  • Who can participate in the Winter 2025 Retreat?
This retreat is designed for women mental health and healing professionals including psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychiatrists as well as those in the physical health or healing professions. If you want to experience Mexico off the beaten path while making connections and memories that will last a lifetime, this retreat is for you! If your profession isn’t mentioned, and you’d like to inquire about joining this retreat, please contact us.
  • What airport should I fly into?
The closest airport to our retreat center is Mexico City (CDMX). It is suggested that you arrive a minimum of four hours ahead of the retreat start time: 3:00pm, Sunday, January 19th, to allow for customs, airport transfers, and check-in. The retreat will end the morning of Sunday, January 26th around 10:00am, and we recommended you pick a late afternoon departure if flying out that day to account for travel time and customs.
  • What type of food will be served?
Meals will be prepared onsite by our wonderful staff using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Vegetarian options will be provided at every meal, and we will do our best to accommodate other dietary preferences. Non-alcoholic beverage are included: water, tea, coffee, homemade hibiscus tea, and freshly squeezed juice.
  • What will the weather be like during the retreat?
January weather in central Mexico is just about perfect. Early mornings are crisp and refreshing (low 50s); afternoons are balmy and warm (high 70s). Lovely for long walks and perfect for poolside lounging.
  • What level of physical activity is necessary for this trip?
Our schedule includes light walking around the property. The three houses are several hundred feet from one another and can involve some uneven terrain (mainly lawn and cobblestones) and/or short flights of steps. The walk into town is a bit more challenging – some of the roads and streets are unpaved or contain cobblestones, so are therefore uneven to walk on. Please note that due to the nature of this destination, some locations may not be accessible to those with physical limitations. If you require a specific type of accommodation for this retreat, please contact us to discuss your needs.
  • Are the accommodations accessible to people with physical disabilities?
Of course, this depends on the nature of the disability. Most of the rooms are at ground level with no steps, and some have disability accessible bathrooms. If you require particular accommodations, please let us know!
  • Will I need a passport for this retreat?
Yes. You will need a valid passport with at least one blank page per stamp (a minimum of two blank pages). According to the U.S. Department of State’s website, travelers entering by air need only have a passport that remains valid for the entirety of the trip. Please make sure that you get your passport renewed ahead of time if it is set to expire! It is important to be aware that the wait times for passport renewals have increased since the pandemic, and it is therefore advised to start this process as early as possible!
  • Do I need a visa?
No 😁. There is no need for a tourist visa on this retreat.
  • What type of currency is used in Mexico? Are credit cards accepted? Are ATM's available?
The local currency is the Mexican peso (MXN); 100 pesos = about $6. Credit cards are accepted at major business locations, but some market stalls, artisans, and transportation options may be cash only. ATMs are located in town, though it's recommended you arrive with at least $100 in pesos, as local ATMs sometimes run out of cash. Additionally, most Mexicans will appreciate receiving tips in pesos, as it can be hard to exchange US dollars.
  • Can I earn continuing education (CE) credits for participating in this retreat?
This training is pending approval for 20 CE credits for social workers, psychologists, and counselors.
  • What is the total cost for full registration? What are the early bird rates?
